Ester lost her mother when she was a baby and does not know her father. She lives with her grandparents and three siblings. The grandparents support the family through vegetable farming and selling produce. Ester’s journey to school takes more than an hour by foot. She has unpaid school committee fees for two semesters. At home, she helps with daily chores and cares for her grandmother who is unwell. Due to financial limitations, she has yet to determine her long-term career goals but remains committed to completing her education.
