Sagita comes from a Javanese family that moved to Sumba four years ago after her father lost his job in Surabaya, following what turned out to be a false job offer from a relative. Her father passed away in 2024, leaving her mother to support the family by working as a masseuse. Sagita is the second of three siblings and helps out by selling meatballs (pentolan) near Prailiu field after school, often returning home late at night. The family's limited finances make it difficult to return to Java, and they have little contact with relatives back home. Sagita hopes to start selling again but currently lacks the capital to do so.
