KAKAK ASUH

As a new initiative by Mestara Berdaya Sumba, Kakak Asuh will help their Adik Asuh feel supported, seen, and empowered to pursue her dreams with confidence. While the MB Sumba scholarship focuses primarily on educational funding, Kakak Asuh creates a more personal and sustained connection. 

How Kakak Asuh Supports Girls in Sumba

When you support a girl as your Adik Asuh, she will receive:

Full support for school tuition fee for one year 

A monthly grocery package for one year 

Access to skills development workshops organized by Mestara

Access to additional courses based on her interests (english classes, dance, etc) 

Learn about our girls including their background, dreams, current challenges, and what continuing school means to them.

Cicilia Putri Djara

Cicilia takes on odd jobs to save for school supplies and ranked third in her class despite her parents' health struggles, hoping to pursue bridal makeup after graduation.

Marsanda Adetri Anandita

Marsanda, ranked first in her class, continues studying despite her parents’ illness and ongoing financial hardship.

Maria Banni Hau

Maria walks two hours to school each day and still ranks first in her class, even as her family relies on her sister's work to get by.

Sintia Kuni Lawajari

Sintia continues her education while living with extended family after her parents’ separation, relying on community support to reduce financial burden.

Yublina Aryanti Rade

Yublina has ranked first in her class every year since starting vocational school, hoping to one day become a pastor despite her family's financial struggles.

Devita M. Haba

Devita relies on her older siblings to get by after her parents' divorce and her mother's illness, hoping to one day become a religion teacher.

Juwita Putri Manuela

Juwita lost her only sibling in an accident and now lives with her aunt's family, ranking first in her class while striving to become her parents' hope for the future.

Jhane Helen

Jhane walks two kilometers to school and helps care for her grandparents at home, hoping a scholarship can help clear her family's overdue school fees.

Solvina Tamu Ina

Solvina balances student council duties with helping her family grow and sell vegetables, hoping a scholarship can ease her parents' school fees as she pursues her dream of becoming a nurse.

Sagita Galuh Persada

Sagita helps support her family by selling street food after school following her father's passing, hoping to find the capital to start selling again.

Become Kakak Asuh

Each Kakak can choose one or more girls as their Adik Asuh. Kakak Asuh will receive regular updates and follow the girl’s progress over time, faciliated by Mestara.

Commit to an anunual contribution of Rp6,000,000

Receive regular updates about her academic progress and milestones

Mestara facilitates communication and ensures transparency throughout the support period, maintaining a safe and respectful relationship.
