Solvina lives with her cousin in Mauhau while her parents farm corn in their home village of Meurumba. She has been an active OSIS (student council) member since grade 10 and received PIP assistance that year, using it to pay six months of school committee fees. To help make ends meet, she grows and sells vegetables and helps sell corn at home. Her mother is currently unwell, adding to the family's challenges. Despite a busy schedule that leaves little time to study, Solvina dreams of becoming a nurse and hopes a scholarship will ease her parents' burden of paying her school fees.
